Children In Middle Classes
According to I.C.A. § 598.15, Parents must attend an approved Children in the Middle class if custody or visitation issues are involved in the dissolution of a marriage or a modification. A new law additionally statutorily requires the course in all actions involving custody of a child or visitation.  A certification of completion must be submitted to the court prior to issuance of a decree or final order.

This class must be completed within 45 days of the date of Original Notice. The cost is approximately $30 - $40, and consists of a 4 hour course. Each judicial district certifies a list of courses for that district.

The class may be waived upon good cause shown or the court could order parties to receive the information in an alternative format. If termination of parental rights of any of the parties is involved, participation is not necessary. The court could also order counseling for the children.

Note: This list may not be completely accurate due to changes in programs. Always check with your attorney or the court to ensure that these programs will currently satisfy family court requirements.  This list is provided for a convenience of my clients.  I cannot schedule classes or provide class schedules or information.  Please utilize the specific contact for information about the classes such as class schedules and other specific information.   If there are errors or updates to this list please provide this information to me at robertpetersonlaw@gmail.com .

No on-line Children-in-the Middle courses are approved or certified for use in the Fifth Judicial District. Classes approved for the Fifth Judicial District are also approved for District 2.
